With the growth of the markets for alternative remedies and certainly the known health implications of smoking, not to mention the ever increasing cost of a packet of cigarettes, many people are starting to turn to alternative remedies such as acupuncture and hypnotherapy to stop smoking.
This obviously leads to a huge training opportunity for those already in the industry to teach the newcomers the process of both hypnotherapy and acupuncture. A quick search on Google brings up all manner of courses which are available, including:
- Hypnotherapy Diploma
- Accredited Beginners Courses
- General Training
- Advanced Courses
They are run by a number of organisations including the hypnotherapy training institute, lcch and a wide range of both training companies and private people already practising, so where do you start? Well, like any training course I always suggest looking for the main accredited body and either calling them, or having a look around their website 
for a list of approved instructors and courses. Whilst this is no guarantee that you will necessarily find one of the best out there, you can be confident that they are accredited and have been assessed in some way.
Next find out what the relevant exams are and at what level they place your skills at. This is beneficial both for you to decide which course will help you achieve your objectives and give you a recognised qualification, but also to assess the instructors level of expertise too.
If possible try to find someone who specialises in hypnotherapy to stop smoking as a specialist in your given field, will undoubtedly be able to offer more practical advice than someone more general. So, in the stopping smoking example, they have probably used it to quit themselves, this is often how people get into these type of professions. Or at least if not, they have likely helped many other people to rid themselves of an addiction to nicotine over the years.
