There are a huge number of academic facilities around the UK, these range from primary and secondary schools, through to colleges and universities, with many additional private educational establishments supplementing these. Reading university is one of the top research universities in England.
It is considered one of the top 200 universities worldwide and in addition to education and research have a strong focus on enterprise. It originated in 1882 as an extension of an Oxford college, they were the first university to ever receive the queens award for export achievement.
Their portfolio covers an enormously wide range of subjects including the arts, science robotics, business and humanities. The courses on offer are both full and part time. They have numerous tutors and professors covering the subjects.
Back in 1947 the campus was purchased and the site has been heavily developed since with educational blocks, extensive grounds and gardens and accommodation. Most recently the merger with henley management college in 2008 has enabled the uni to branch back out to Oxfordshire.
